Alison ‘Alikat’ Doyle was born under the rainy lights of vancouver’s nightlife with a paw-full of skills passed down to her from high-profile mentors of the scene. A champion in the lost art of crate digging, Alikat’s passion for music is rooted in a history of endless searching for those hidden vinyl gems that taught her the art of mixing, scratching and working the room. Bringing this process into the digital world, Alikat still puts in the hours searching for gems that will light up the dance floor and the looks on the faces of her crowd.
Alikat’s is recognized by audiences both online and off. In 2007 she got her start playing for online audiences over the airwaves of NSB radio, arguably the world’s #1 breakbeat internet radio station. It was only a matter of years before her promotion to Manager in 2013, a title which she still presently holds.
Most known for her breakbeat roots and reputation for playing bass-heavy bootlegs of popular songs, AliKat’s passion for music is never limited to a genre. In her switch to digital, she has become one of Vancouver’s most versatile DJs sharing the her mature tastes. With a new appreciation for the distinct sounds of underground tech house and techno, her wealth of experience won’t stop her from flawlessly dropping a bassline house, deep house, dubstep/trap or mainstream electro house set.
